Poor Uhlmert, he could have tried a respirator and maybe not died. But it seems he was set on being a martyr. Liked this one, made me wonder how many other scientists have died for their work.
I like to think that they were just too absorbed into their work that they didn't think about the respirator. Kinda like how academics always have scruffy hair or a general unkempt appearance ;-)
